In order to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, to strengthen the publication of the policies on rural, agricultural and farmer’s issues, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Office of CPC Leading Group for Rural Work, CCCPC Party Literature Research Office, and the State Archives Administration of the People’s Republic of China, sponsored by the China Agricultural Museum, A Review on its Rural Policies since the Foundation of the Communist Party of China exhibition opened on June 26, 2011 in the National Agriculture Exhibition Center. The Exhibition lasted throughout July in the exhibition hall No.5.
Based on historical documents and files, supported by agricultural relics, pictures, videos, and interview documents, and aiming at a clear representation of the most important issues in China -- farming land and “the issues of agriculture, rural areas and farmers”, the Exhibition showed to the public a fundamental policy during these 90 years. Meanwhile, it gave a clear review of the policies drawn up by the CPC, of the progress achieved in the research of rural and farming policies, and also on the achievements made during the nation’s process of becoming rich. According to the time line, the whole Exhibition is divided into three parts: the Period of New-democratic Revolution, the Socialist Revolution Period, and the Period of Reform and Opening-up. The Exhibition mainly focus on the policies during the Agrarian Revolution, the War of Resistance Against the Japanese Invaders, the War of Liberation, the National Economic Recovery, and the Period of Socialist Transformation, reviewing the system of policies of strengthening and benefiting farming and farmers, which have been formed since the Reform and Opening-up, especially during the process of coordination of urban and rural economic and social developments and the agricultural modernization with Chinese characteristics.
A Review on its Rural Policies since the Foundation of the Communist Party of China exhibition received impressive feedback among leaders and all circles in China. Vice Premier Hui Liangyu pointed out that on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the Exhibition is of great importance in the review of its rural policies. Leaders of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), the 50 departments of MOA, and the institutions directed by MOA, visited the Exhibition. There were also many visitors from the Office of the CPC Central Committee Leading Group on Rural Work, Economical and Finanical Leader Office of the CCP Central Committee,the State Archives Administration of the People’s Republic of China, the Finance and Economy Committee of the National Committee of CPPCC, the State Forestry Bureau, the Ministry of Water Resources, the National Weather Service, the State Administration of Grain, and the Party School of the CPC Central Committee. All visitors were deeply impressed by the Exhibition, as a leader wrote on the Guests’ Book: “‘The Review on its Rural Policies since the Founding of the Communist Party of China’ exhibition, with its great details, the new pattern of presentation, and high quality, is very well worth a visit.”
