The “Chinese Traditional Farming Tools” exhibition in Hall No.7 occupies about 650 square meters. It is an exhibition of special themes, reflecting the use of Chinese traditional farm tools. More than 300 exhibits have been chosen carefully from about 3,000 items collected by CAM.

According to the function of farming tools, the display is divided into eight parts: tools for soil preparation and tillage; seeding and cultivation; intertilling; irrigation; harvesting; grain processing; transportation; and labor protection. There are various plows used in different kinds of terrains, unique-shaped gourds used for sowing, odd-shaped sowing calabash, 9-meter-long dragon-bone water lift, and all kinds of threshing tools.

The exhibitions, though small in scale, is rich in content. Through a combination of ancient paintings and exhibits, especially some tools that can be experimented on the spot, such as rollers, grinds, pestles, gins, and water wheels, visitors can vividly experience the Chinese ancient agricultural civilization.
